OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH POLICY
MAK Power’s aim, as practically possible, is to prevent accidents and personal injury. To achieve this, we strive to always maintain and apply the highest safety standards in the workplace. Undoubtedly, people are our most important asset and their safety and health is of paramount importance.
This standard of care not just only applies to our employee’s but to all people we come in contact with, whether it be our sub-contractors, other trades staff, visitors, clientele and their staff and the general public.
Our primary objective is to always ensure that we meet and comply with the safety standards, as set out in WA Legislation. To fulfill these standards and to achieve safety in the workplace, we provide/undertake the following procedures and/or actions;
In order for MAK Power to achieve such outcomes, all employees are expected to support the policy by following safe work procedures, contribution to the process by way of identifying and controlling hazards, provision of constructive feedback and input to where potential risks of injury/accidents may occur and by reporting all accidents and near misses.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT
MAK Power’s activities will be carried out so as to protect the health of employees, trainees, customers, contractors, and the community and is done so in such a way that is not derogatory towards the protection and management of the environment.
We are committed to the protection of the environment in all our activities. We will endeavor to conduct our activities in such a manner that is environmentally responsible and sustainable.
The Primary Goal of the Environmental Policy and associated procedures is to assist maintaining the highest environmental standards.
Objectives
The objectives of this policy are to:
Meeting and exceeding (where practically possible) all legal and regulatory framework for environmental management and protection; and where these seem to be lacking or insufficient to protect the environment, apply best practice standards to ensure the environment is protected;
Maintain an awareness within MAK Power that its activities remain the responsibility of MAK Power’s employees and subcontractors under our control to ensure the protection of the environment;
Annual review of MAK Power’s activities to identify and assess the environmental impact associated with these activities; and-
Implement and maintain management systems, processes, programs and procedures to ensure the environment is protected including the control of discharge of waste emissions, or any other potentially environmentally hazardous conditions that may harm the environment;
Provide an environmental emergency response program for unforeseen events so as to minimize the risk to people, facilities, and assets;
Provide environmental training for employees, staff, visitors, and affected people where applicable;
MAK Power’s commitment to the environment is as equally important to us as any of our commitments. Reporting on the company’s performance in this area will be to the relevant authorities.
This policy and associated procedures are to be reviewed in consultation with the relevant stakeholders, by way of changes or amendments to the relevant pieces of legislation and/or annually on the enactment date.

- To assist injured workers to return to work as soon as medically appropriate in accordance with the Workers Compensation and Injury
(Management Act.)
